So, Kitty dragged Bunny over to Westfield for dinner and a movie…part of the story was that Kitty had been shopping there all day and refused to leave. Well, was fun seeing Bridges Wharf from the river – on the overground bridge – and we had a surprisingly delicious Malaysian meal at Jom Makan before seeing Inception, which was fab (and Bunny is not a fan of Leo)! A good night out – and we caught the last train back with seconds to spare

Bunny was dragged along to see New Moon – the second film in the Twilight series. What can I say…the plot is good, a good thrill..but still too much teenage anxiety for Bunny

Bunny is fairly aware of living in close proximity to a large council estate, and that the shortest way to the train is crossing through it…so far the most troubling scenes have been a few young guys assembling in groups and the occasional police car passing through tho…so even I thought it must be a bit of an exaggeration setting up this sign on the telephone box…until I realised it was an ad for a new movie Two girls passing in the other direction were actually trying to call the number, still wonder what they found out

Having read all the books (a couple of times) and followed this phenomenon for over a decade, Bunny of course had to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince! I do agree with all the critics saying that this feels more like a cliffhanger to the real finale, but it was still worth seeing.

(By the way, J.K. Rowling’s official website is officially rubbish!)

Bunny has just been to see Ice Age 3 – The Dawn of the Dinosaurs, and it was a very happy reunion wit my favourite character Scrat…and a right laugh too

Also a nice little reminder of the 80s there, with a new version of Was (not Was)’ Walk the Dinosaur

So, another trip to the cinema…now with my niece… There wasn’t much on, so Michi opted for Bedtime Stories…which probably wasn’t that bad, it’s just that Bunny can’t stand Adam Sandler. We did agree it was fairly entertaining tho…and we enjoyed the popcorn

Dragons and stuff…

So, taking my nephew to the cinema, we had to watch The Dragon Hunters (as his mum is lovingly referred to as the dragon). Bunny has seen stranger things, but at least Benjamin Bunny sat quietly throughout the entire film, and we managed to scoff down copious amounts of popcorn and candy

And the story was actually quite good….plus the levitating bunnies amused us

Apparently, if you haven’t read Stieg Larsson’s books in Sweden, you’re excluded from all forms of social life there. The books are excellent, though shocking, and you just can’t stop reading once you’ve started. So of course Bunny had to see the first film, which directly translated is called “Men who hate women”. There is a lot cut out from the fairly lengthy book, but it still works, and even knowing what is going to happen I found myself jumping in my seat. 2.5 hours well spent…

Bunny is not too keen on dogs, having had some annoying experiences with some really untrained ones, but more about that later…so anyway, when a friend lent me the book Marley and Me a few years ago I was surprised to find myself hooked…and weirdly thinking it would make a great film with Jennifer Aniston in it. So when it came out had to see it then! As expected it was very romantic and sweet, not quite like the book, but def a must-see for dog lovers

DVD marathon

So, had a bit of a DVD race the other night…but amazingly managed to pick 4 good films:

Paris, je t’aime – this is a few year’s old now, but was picked up in an offer at Asda…surprisingly good, has got some kind of Shortcuts quality about it…even if some of the stories were a tad bizarre. Worth seeing if you like Paris.

Burn after reading – cannot believe I missed this when it was in the cinema, another fab Coen brothers piece.

Ghost Town – Ricky Gervais in an American comedy….why not? Funny little chick flick!

Zack and Miri Make a Porno – well, would never have watched if it hadn’t been recommended by Blockbusters store manager – a girl about my age….never thought a film about porno would be as sweet, but it really is…plus with some awkward moments

Confessions of a fan

It is quite a few weeks since I saw Confessions of a Shopaholic now, and ages since I read the book, but Bunny still likes – perfect chick flick – and with a happy ending…a bit like Sex and the City with even loopier outfits…and more romance than sex, really…but Bunny recommends!

(I do however wonder if they are planning any sequels…the book was originally set in the UK, but the film is set in NYC…what about Shopaholic Abroad then?)
