Battersea nights

After a week of late night socialising AND full-on stress at work plus long days of shopping for Kitty, we opted for an easy outdoor dinner at Battersea Rickshaw on the Square. Enjoyable Indian cuisine, and the waiter and chef did their best to adhere to Kitty’s dietary requirements. Arriving quite late we were probably also the last guests to leave, well, what can you do about those late night licences….?

Riverside life…

Bunny still loves riverside living. What is better than a leisurely stroll down to the Waterfront for a cold drink and some snacks? And in in the evening, dining in Thai on the River… OK, perhaps slow service, however great food and a great view while we were waiting…and two free glasses of wine for the delay…

Revolving around the Axis

Bunny had the pleasure of dining in Axis at One Aldwych with good friends. The reviews all state “a stunning new design by Mary Fox Linton and a new Modern British menu from former Marco Pierre White student Executive Chef Tony Fleming”…and guess what; they are right!

Also, great service – and you can’t beat a 3-course meal at that standard, including wine and tea…at just over £50 :D

Buongiorno Principessa

PrinciNot finding a knight in shining armour on your night out in Soho? Or just a tad peckish? Why not try Princi in Wardour Street…sort of an Italian McDonald’s -  except from that Rocco Princi is also known as‘the Armani of bread’. I loved my pizza swimming in cheese..but it was impossible to find a seat…

Post note: Went again – the olive bread sticks are a must try!!!

Happy sangrias :D

Las IguanasWhat a great surprise that happy hour in Las Iguanas means a BOGOF – buy one get one free :D The Waterloo branch is quite a noisy place, so we didn’t quite hear what the waitress said, see… Nevertheless, great place to go for a quick bite and a drink after work – high business suit factor, but hey…

Post note: Went once again, got table but did not get served for 45 minutes…left…disappointed!

Friday :D

Bruschetta

…and Bank Holiday Weekend :D Bunny enjoyed a long lunch with her colleagues, at a nice little Italian restaurant…and of course had to accept their loyalty card, when just one more meal will get me a free glass of wine :D

And remember; The Notting Hill Carnival is on this weekend…will Bunny be there….?

Loyalty Card

Tick!

WineBunny has now ticked another item off the “101 Things to do before you leave London” list – and visited Gordon’s Wine Bar, which is supposed to be London’s oldest. As it was a nice day we stayed on the outside terrace on Watergate Walk, but were duly impressed by the quirky inside part as well. Would be perfect for a romantic date ;)

Fuel!

FuelGreat hangout in Covent Garden, perfect view of the buzz and free entertainment…yes, so it’s a tourist haunt and the prices are thereafter, but the food was nice, the wine cold and absolutely no parmesan nazi here, note the cheese next to my seafood pasta :D

Bonum vinum laetificat cor hominis :D

CoalGood wine gladdens a person’s heart…so as I was sort of enjoying my bad mode I only had a Pepsi Max

…and the fact that they do serve that instead of poor Diet Coke is not the only reason I like Coal, the outdoor tables are in the heart of downtown Wimbledon, so a prime spot for seeing who’s out and about…and the food is very good too, and decently priced.

You don’t get better grilled prawns outside of Portugal ;)

Abbor!

PerchSo, back in Norway, and as much as Bunny likes wining and dining, nothing beats pan-fried perch from the Mangen Lake with new potatoes and sour cram sauce…tastes even better as I have caught and cleaned the damned thing myself – believe it or not :D
