Any reason will do?

Tough Kuromi

So, Bunny was thinking of leaving London earlier this year. Now very glad I didn’t, but just came across my pro and con list…and here is my list of things that I said I would NOT miss in the beginning of 2009 – and some comments…

10 things I will NOT miss

1. Crap housing, especially heating and plumbing

2. Horrendous decorations and furniture

- both sorted by moving into my great new flat :D

3. My landlords and landladies

- well, been better so far, but…

4. The M25 and London traffic

- luckily mostly using public transportation and walking these days…not without issues either, but…

5. The food in general

6. Chips with everything – including pasta

- so eating more at home…healthier and saves money

7. Dating English men

- well…

8. English high street fashion

9. English shoes

- have found some good stores for shoes and lingerie tho….

10. The weather

- well, can’t be helped, but at least I’ve got my balcony heater

Happy sangrias :D

Las IguanasWhat a great surprise that happy hour in Las Iguanas means a BOGOF – buy one get one free :D The Waterloo branch is quite a noisy place, so we didn’t quite hear what the waitress said, see… Nevertheless, great place to go for a quick bite and a drink after work – high business suit factor, but hey…

Post note: Went once again, got table but did not get served for 45 minutes…left…disappointed!

Bingo!

The BinghamBunny had the pleasure of spending a day at the Bingham in Richmond. What a fab place! Shame it was raining that day…

Oh boy!

Bunny hasn’t really got much of a sweet tooth, but Cake Boy in the new Battersea Reach development is a proper treat…Check out those blueberry muffins – must count towards your 5-a-day? :D That lazy riverside walk along the Thames surely counts as exercise too? Shame they are not open on Sundays tho…Cake Boy

How very dare they?

How very dare they? Bunny has just left Orange as the 3G+ coverage all of a sudden disappeared from Bridges Wharf, and they couldn’t be bothered to look into it…then they plaster this massive poster at the entry to Bridges Court Road…clever?Orange ad

Go West?

WestfieldSo, Bunny found herself dragged north of the river to Westfield Shopping Centre…impressive – yes. To my liking? Well, seeing as I don’t like shopping even on a quiet day, my verdict is: Too big, too busy…and feel sad for anyone who will spend an entire day there, shopping, dining and going to the cinema…

The one thing I really did enjoy tho, was Crepe Affaire…sweet and savoury and very tasty crepes…I am sure some will say that the crepe machine is cheating, but it was very efficient ;)

The drama!

Kuromi loves

Blood, Sweat & TeaBunny is a little bit in love with a man she has never met - currently reading Blood, Sweat & Tea - a book by ambulance technician Brian Kellett, writing under the pseudonym Tom Reynolds (which is funny, as he warns about using pseudonyms when blogging). The book is about life in the London Ambulance Service and is based on his blog Random Acts of Reality. I must have missed out on the entire phenomenon – the blog, the radio show – but happy to at least have been introduced to the book. Read more about Tom Reynolds aka Brian Kellett. I was very curious to find out what he looked like - so googled up this image…seems he has got lots of equipment to schlep around…

Burn, baby, burn!

BonfireExcellent bonfire and amazing fireworks in Battersea Park :D The fireworks were timed with music – a great experience that left us in the mood to go dancing in town :D

I love how the English celebrate that a guy was tortured and killed for trying to do something that may tempt quite a few these days…good excuse for a party tho :D

Trick or treat?

Bad Kuromi and KittyBunny had a great Halloween :D

Witches Brew!

Witches BrewAh, how about some witches brew to warm you up on a chilly halloween afternoon…Bunny loved the Soup of the Month from New Covent Garden.

Also, I love their description of their soup:

(the only thing negative about Covent Garden soups is a slightly too high salt content)

Soup of the Month

Serve up a cauldron of our menacingly smoky pumpkin & sweet tomato soup, with a host of Halloween surprises. Eyes of Newt (or rather black eye beans), toe of frog (well, sweetcorn), wing of bat (actually no, bats are our friends – see below) and tongue of dog (we love dogs too – so some rice instead). Surprisingly, this soup is suitable for vegetarians!
