1. The best day for shopping on Oxford Street is Sunday, at noon when the shops open. All the commuters are having Sunday lunch in their locals and everyone else is still nursing a hangover

2. The best day to visit busy tourist attractions is Monday morning – most other visitors will have returned on Sunday (PS: Just check that the attraction is actually open)

3. Best day for celebrity spotting is any weekday around midnight in the trendy clubs; anyone with a proper day job will be in bed so that’s when the rich and famous are out to play
